Now, the baby’s mother had identified. Previously, Indonesian maid denied the baby was hers. She claimed that she found the baby outside on Friday, while taking out the garbage. Kosmo online, 'AS tipu dunia mendarat di bulan?' 16 february 2009

This article is about the America’s Apollo faked moon landing over 40 years a go. Many peoples believe that man never really walked on the moon. When the US president, John F. Kennedy claimed that human will be on the moon in decade, they were so desperate to compete with Russia in space mission. They wanted to win so badly, they decided they would cheat and pretend to be on the moon. Nobody would know they were really in the Nevada desert with a camera crew and actors. The computer system at that time was poor and the navigation system also not possible to lead the Apollo to the moon which is about 400000 km from earth. People who don’t believe about NASA faking the Moon landings are called HB. According to them, Armstrong and friends were not really landed on moon. They were in the secret army base camp in Nevada which nobody really known where it is located. It was big enough for NASA to create the background of the moon. NASA raised 40 billion dollars pretending to go to the moon. All that money was meant to be used for the technology necessary to attempt such a stunt and paid peoples involved in that mission to keep the secret. The first thing wrong with the picture is the astronauts’ shadow. It is obvious that the shadow is longer than the man himself. The only light source on the moon is the suddenly, therefore making a shadow that large impossible.
Other attention was the flag. There is no oxygen on the moon. Then how can the flag be fluttering? The flag appeared to be moving quite a lot and have no shadow.
Another little something to point out is the sky in the background. It was seems a little dark and no stars in the sky. And lastly was the space craft track was not there, even though the shoes print can be seen clearly in the photos. It was such a large conspiracy from NASA. Then Bill Kaysing , an engineer who worked for NASA claimed that the Apollo Moon landings were faked. Apart from scientific evidence, there is several evidences that can doubt the fake mission.

MERCURY REMOVAL FROM NATURAL GAS AND LIQUID STREAMS
Giacomo Corvini, Julie Stiltner and Keith Clark
UOP LLC
Houston, Texas, USA

I went to Kemaman last mid-semester break accompanying my friend who are doing his Final Year Project, there; I met brother Ujang a chemical engineer from Petronas Safety and Environment department. When I said I'm from UMP, he was very glad and suddenly showed me a piece of newspaper article: 'Penyelidik UMP raih 7 pingat di Korea Selatan'.

He was very interested in one of UMP award winning research, "Removal of Mercury by Pseudomonas Putida". This is because although with two tower of adsorption column to remove Mercury at PAKA, liberation of mercury at the GPP stills a major concern. As I'm keen to pursue my career in environmental field he encouraged me to learn more about 'Removal of Mercury' and made this topic as my self-made assignment.

This journal from UOP LLC is one of my recent readings on this subject.

Actually mercury is present in most natural gas streams to varying levels. Besides of its hazardous characteristic to human, the primary reason for removing mercury from natural is to protect downstream aluminium heat exchanger- device in the stream /plant. Mercury tends to amalgamates with aluminium resulting in mechanical failure and gas leakage.

In this journal Corvini, Stiltner and Clark from UOP LLC has suggested HgSIV adsorbent for effective mercury removal in existing molecular sieve adsorption units. These HgSIV adsorbents are loaded into an adsorption vessel in the same way as are conventional molecular sieves.

They are available in a beaded or in a pelletized form. The disposal requirements are also the same as for conventional molecular sieves, provided the material is properly regenerated prior to being unloaded.

One of the advantages of HgSIV adsorbents is it can be used in a stand-alone unit or in combination with bulk, non-regenerative mercury removal beds in the regeneration gas loop. The non-regenerative adsorbent beds are effective for bulk mercury removal, but often fail to provide complete mercury removal.

A stand-alone UOP HgSIV process, mercury is removed from the feed stream, condensed in the regeneration knockout, and leaves the process as a separate liquid stream.

HgSIV adsorbents has been tested and used in over 25 gas dryers and 7 liquid dryers and it have gave a very positive result. Mercury levels in the dried natural gas were below detectable levels of 0.01 µg/Nm3.

While the performance of liquid dryer mercury removal unit shown: the mercury content of 2ppbw in the feed liquid was reduced to a less than detectable level of below 0.02 ppbw. Detail analysis and observation was shown in this journal.

Economically, using HgSIV adsorbents also very cost effective. As it does not required additional equipment to an existing process. The only cost is the production of HgSIV itself. The spent HgSIV also are classified as non-hazardous for disposal purposes.

p/s: I've try my best to make it not too scientific i.e reader friendly, and shortest summary as I can ;)

Although we found that evidence it does not means that pills are good replacement. According to the research also, taking vitamins as the supplements are not surely can help prevent cancer and it is more good taking nutrition in whole foods. Number of person having cancer and heart disease around people taking supplements and not are in equal numbers. Eric Jacobs, an American Cancer Society epidemiologist, said its better to live in good life and having good health by taking nutrition in foods to prevent heart problems, cardiovascular disease and cancers.

More doors open for graduates
Today I have read an article about ‘ The More Doors Open for Graduates’. In my part opinion, I think all of us need to have a glance on this article. It seems to be very useful information for us as undergraduates which leads us to know about the working life and the outside world. According to the article, MDeC and Sun have banded together to offer local university graduates the ¬opportunity to master open-source skills and there is a demand for the software fields. I think this will broaden up our opportunity in the working field. Under the partnership, Sun will provide the graduates with industry-recognized technology training and certification tools, through MDeC’s network of institutions of higher learning. The training which will be conducted will absolutely leads the students to master Java which is a program of language developed by Sun Microsystems. In addition to that, we will learn about Open Solaris, Sun’s open-source operating system, around which the vendor has built developer and user ¬communities. Also on the cards is to make the graduates experts in MySQL, a relational database management system that ¬reportedly has more than 11 million installations worldwide, The students will gain ¬relevant IT skills which will improve their employability, and the initiative will also help meet the local industry’s demand for competent IT profession. The programmes are designed to enable IT ¬professionals to better harness Sun’s leading open-source ¬technologies. Its definitely will improve our communication, interaction skills¬, technical and problem-solving skills.
I hope all of us may go to the link below to get more details on the article which I have read.

The article “Don’t catch a virus this Valentine’s” wrote by Stefan Naidu was about virus during Valentine. According to Internet Security Company Trend Micro, in the few weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day, “love” messages flood e-mail inboxes all over the world since the year 2000.The e-mail contain a link that will connect user to another website. When the user was clicked that page, the user is prompted to download a malicious file. For this year, the file is WORM_WALEDEC.AR which purpose to compromise the security of infected systems and makes the computer extremely vulnerable to infiltration.

I suggest that all the e-mail user to scan the e-mail first before open it or forward it to other user. At the same time, please don’t open the e-mail that you may not know who is the sender. More probability, that e-mail contains virus. Once a computer has been compromised by a virus, it is usually unsafe to continue using the same computer without completely reinstalling the operating system. Format the computer is the method has the benefits of being simple to do, being faster than running multiple antivirus scans, and is guaranteed to remove any malware.

Female (February 2009)
Title: Stop Harassing Me (pg.208)
The article is about to understand the difference between fooling around and sexual harassment, and learn how to prevent it. Sexual harassment at work should not be taken lightly because it’s not about fun flirtation but about the abuse of power. The proposal to include anti-sexual harassment provisions in the Employment Act of 1955 was opposed because there are opinions saying that it might only discourage foreign direct investments. Sexual harassment covers any unwelcome verbal, non-verbal, visual, psycho-logical or physical conduct perceived by the victim as placing a condition of a sexual nature on his or her employment because of his or her sex. There are two types of sexual harassment, namely sexual coercion and sexual annoyance. Sexual coercion has direct results on the victim’s employment. It is under a condition where an offer in keeping a job or getting a promotion is made by a supervisor to an employee in exchange for sexual favours. Sexual annoyance is an unwelcome, sexually-related behavior that is offensive and hostile to the victim, but has no direct connection to any job benefit. However, this creates an offensive working environment which affects the victim’s ability to continue working. Victims of sexual harassment are often being made as object of humiliation by scrutiny and gossips. They become the ‘accused’ and their dressing, lifestyle and private life often come under attack and they lose trust by people who occupy similar positions as the harasser. To deal with it, tell the harasser that his advances are in appropriate and that you want them to stop. Record details of every event and feel free to write to the offender to warn him of further action for non-compliance. If the offender is your manager or supervisor, speak to someone more senior than him, your personnel officer or union representatives, and also seek help from Labour Ministry and NGO that provide counseling and assistance.

Earth-like Planet Could Be Discovered Within Three Years

This article is about space exploration by the astronomers and space agency such as NASA. According to the astronomers and NASA, they believe that there are planets which can support life in our universe. Statistically, they stated that there might be 100 billion Earth-like planets in our very own galaxy, The Milky Way. And according to a researcher at the Carnegie Institute for Science in Washington, there is roughly one Earth-like planet for every star that is similar to our own sun. NASA is going to launch a space telescope, called Kepler, into to space to search for planets that are similar to Earth. It will join force with the European Space Agency’s Corot telescope (the space telescope which already spotted a large planet similar to Earth this month) to look for Earth-like planets. They are very sure that these space telescopes will find planets which are similar to earth and it might be inhabited with organisms which are more common to things that were found on our Earth three or four billion years ago.

Title: Celebrate life
The article is about the process of learning and teaching about “death” in children. When there is a lose of someone they love very much in the family, the children will also feel the sense of loss. This will definitely wonder the child whether this will happen to them one day. Hence it is important to know what a child understand about death. The children need space and time to deal with death. Besides, the adults should be honest with the feelings and share it with the child. We also have to maintain the same routines and tell them the truth so that the child will feel secure and be around people they trust. It is also important that to pay attention with their emotions and explain to them clearly about the death. Let the child know that the relationships among loved ones are cherished instead.
In my opinion, the process of teaching about death in children is very important because we all are human being. One day, we will face the death. It is very useful to let the child know and understand about death. Indirectly, it will make the child to appreciate for what the God had given to them a healthier life.

Hope Lives (pg.86)
This article is about Malaysia facing a critical organ donation shortage while the list of patients waiting for transplant gets longer. The fear of challenging death propels us to live in denial. A healthy person would find it difficult to understand the hopelessness a family struck by a potentially fatal disease undergoes. Unlike some major diseases where there is no hope, the person can be cured by a transplant. The second chance to live is within sight but out of reach. The organ donation shortage is not because of the lack of donors. The problem lies in the relatives who do not consent to the organ donation, even if that someone had signed up as a donor. There are numerous would-be donors who fail to inform their kin of their wishes. Health Ministry has set up a committee to promote organ donations among the public.

There is no evidence to show that computer games can cause aggression on children. Instead, it stimulates the learning of fact and skills such as strategic thinking, creativity, cooperation and innovative thinking which are very important in the society. Experts and psychologist from various countries stated that video games have a positive contribution to make to the education of minors. Some schools even considering for use video games for educational purposes. Statistics shows that video gaming sector outsold the music and other video products last year. Protecting your ears

This article is about how we can protect our ears. The tests were carried out from diners to railway stations, shopping malls to schoolyards reveal that almost all of us in these cities live, work and play surrounded by noise loud enough to cause hearing loss and while many noise-induced hearing loss prevention programmes and legislation has been in place, and they are often poorly implemented and enforced. If we already have hearing loss, it is more important for us to preserve what is left of our hearing. To protect our ears from hearing loss, we can try stay away from places that are loud and noisy, limit our exposure to loud noise if we cannot avoid it and try not to treat our ears to loud music through headphones on iPods or mp3 players. We can also seek treatment for ear infections and get our ears checked frequently if we are exposed to any of the risk factors of hearing loss.

Links between Noise Pollution and Ill-Health

This article is talk about the relationship between noise pollution and our health. The main sources of noise pollution are flights, machines, TV, radio, loud music, and traffic .According to a recent report from the World Health Organization (WHO), noise pollution is causing hearing problems such as tinnitus, causing disturbed sleep, and triggering stress hormones which can play a major role in many illnesses. At the same time , it also will make us feel powerless , potentially more aggressive and risk of having heart attack or stroke is increased. To solve this noise pollution, we must going to take some courageous souls to make changes. We can get involved in activities that are so absorbing that you will no longer hear the noise. Meditation, yoga, and other forms of relaxation can help people to cope with noise pollution. We also can wear the ear plugs and noise cancelling earphones to against noise.

Yesterday I read an article about ‘Can’t stand the abuse’. This story was all about of all kind of abuse cases around this world. The phenomenon of abuse is one which occurs in all age ranges, all ethnic groups and all social stratas. It was an important issue for us all to know. It not only for knowing it but obviously we should have to put on some kind of precaution and action for this issue. I was shocked to read that singer Chris Brown allegedly punched his girlfriend, Rihanna, in her face and biting her on the arm. I was totally felt outdated with this story. Why God creates this kind feelings in this world..?? Isn’t a part of violence, evil, discrimination and what else words to say..?? I felt very bad for those who involved in this kind of situation. Thank God I haven’t went through these kind of situation, getting abused and so on. I also get many information about the tactics which is used by an abuser such as intimidation, threats, fear, guilt and shame to gain complete power over you and wear you down. It is proved that domestic abuse can happen in all age ranges, all ethnic groups and all social stratus. i also get a clear picture on’ Why do people in a relationship abuse the other partner’?. This might be answered on that particular topic. The reasons are really good and i think I should be the reason for inducing a person in abuse cases. There many things to know from the article. Title: Raising awareness

From the article above, it is about the raising of awareness on Violence against women (VAW). Women’s Aid Organization (WAO) takes the responsibility to raise the awareness among students. Obviously, based on the statistics, there is an increase cases reported in rape and domestic violence. To counter this problem, WAO had come out with posters, postcards, website and even the education campaigns to provoke the public to rethink their views on rape. It is also aims to provide in-depth information on rape to the public.
In my opinion, the awareness and education campaign in “Violence Against Women” is very necessary in this modern day. We can’t just only blame the school students for being revealing. This is because the rape and crime of violence not only happen at school students but also the babies and the elderly women. By the way, here is a very interesting website that you can surf to send your personal opinions and learn the truth .The website is www.wao.org.my/censored.

Protecting your ears

A Reader’s Digest Asia article in December 2007 explored the noise epidemic in various public places in the cities of Asia: Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok.

Tests carried out from diners to railway stations, shopping malls to schoolyards reveal that almost all of us in these cities live, work and play surrounded by noise loud enough to cause hearing loss.

A suburban train in Kuala Lumpur was found to generate noise reaching 115dBA (well above the WHO safe limit of 70dBA) when it leaves the platform, and “the combination of squealing train tracks and howling wind tunnels make the 20-minute train ride felt like sitting inside a jet engine”.

If you already have hearing loss, it is more important for you to preserve what’s left of your hearing.
These are some of the ways you could shield your ears from further assault, normal hearing or otherwise:
1. Try to stay away from places that are loud and noisy.
2. Limit your exposure to loud noise if you can’t avoid it.
3. Try not to “treat” your ears to loud music through your earphones on iPods or mp3 players.

Exercise Boosts Mental Performance in Adults with Memory Problems

The News is about the benefits and effects of exercise. Regular exercise is one of the best ways to reduce your risk of dementia and can help slow progression of the condition. It also improves cognition in people with mild cognitive impairment and that there is a lasting effect even after the exercise intervention stops. The exercise sessions consisted of moderate physical activity like walking. The benefits of physical activity were apparent after six months and persisted for at least another 12 months after the intervention had been discontinued. The researchers noted that regular exercise is well known to provide a wide variety of health benefits. Unlike medication, which was found to have no significant effect on mild cognitive impairment at 36 months, physical activity has the advantage of health benefits that are not confined to cognitive function alone as suggested by findings on depression, quality of life, falls, cardiovascular function and disability.

This article is about the usage of NGV as an alternative fuel to replace the usage of petrol. NGV stands for Natural Gas for Vehicles. For vehicle use, natural gas is compressed to 3000 pounds per square inch and filled into tanks, it also known as Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Natural gas also supplied to power station, industries and household. It is environmentally friendly fuel and has been proven to be lighter than air; it does not contaminate lakes, rivers or groundwater. Compare to petroleum, natural gas emits 70% less carbon monoxide, 87% less nitrogen oxide and 20% less carbon dioxide. In fact, natural gas is the cleanest burning fossil in the world. All cars can use the natural gas as their fuel but the car must be converted to bi-fuel in order to use the natural gas. According to Petronas NGV, the natural gas based fuel represents substantial saving in fuel cost, which amounts to more than 50% saving. Converting car into a bi-fuel vehicle will mean a 25% reduction in your in your annual road tax. In other hand using the natural gas the car will cause the loss 10% of power. Unfortunately, because the compressed natural gas can’t be mixed into the fuel tank, it has to be mounted in the boot- making long getaways with more than one Samsonite, difficult. Other difficulties using natural is our car will not be able to feed on the cheaper fuel to often because only over 40 CNG stations scattered across the entire Peninsula Malaysia.

Title: rhinos reside here

I like to read adventure and travel article,so i want to share this article. After i read the aticle, i understand that the chances we can meet rhinos at Ujung Kulon National Park at West Java is like once in a blue moon. The writter mentioned that rhinos learned a long time ago that humans spell trouble. Its quite funny but absolutely true. There are 2 ways to reach the destination-by boat or walk. The writter chose the second way. While the writter are walking in the journey, they ambush by wildpig. Eventhrough this is a lengthly and tiring hiking, but writter still enjoy the journey because the beauty of natural scene and the unspoilt beaches had make him no regret to hike. I think i should have a journey like what writter recomment, but before that i should train my stamina first...

Fight against plaque

This article is about mouthwash brand Listerine. Mouthwash brand Listerine launched its Complete Your Daily Oral Care with Mouthwash campaign last week, in collaboration with Malaysian Dental Association (MDA). The manufacturer of Listerine said that brushing teeth alone may not be able to maintain an oral hygiene level that adequately controls the formation of bacterial plaque on teeth because that plaque accumulation can lead to development of dental caries, gum inflammation and related diseases. The purpose of this campaign is to correct the public’s perception that brushing teeth alone is enough to keep dental problem away and to educate Malaysians on the proper steps to oral care and to promote oral hygiene education. Patients can help reduce their risk of developing periodontal disease by controlling the accumulation of plaque, which can be accomplished by adhering to a daily oral hygiene regimen that includes brushing, flossing and adding an antiseptic mouth rinse for better plaque control. According to statistics, in the lifetime, 75% of all adults will develop gingivitis, a kind of dental disease caused by inadequate plaque removal. The efficacy of Listerine antiseptic mouthwash lies in its fixes combination of essential oils that can disrupt the bacteria’s cell wall and kill the bacteria within 30 seconds and the mouth also penetrate better into plaque for deeper cleansing. Listerine antiseptic mouthwash is efficient in plaque and gingivitis control and it is accepted by the American Dental Association (ADA).

A cold slice of watermelon has long been a Fourth of July holiday staple. But according to recent studies, the juicy fruit may be better suited for Valentine’s Day. That’s because scientists say watermelon has ingredients that deliver Viagra-like effects to the body’s blood vessels and may even increase libido.
Citrulline, the precursor to arginine, is found in higher concentrations in the rind of watermelons than the flesh. As the rind is not commonly eaten, two of Patil’s fellow scientists, drs. Steve King and Hae Jeen Bang, are working to breed new varieties with higher concentrations in the flesh.

In addition to the research by Texas A&M, watermelon’s phyto-nutrients are being studied by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service in Lane, Oklahoma.

As an added bonus, these studies have also shown that deep red varieties of watermelon have displaced the tomato as the lycopene king, Patil said. Almost 92 percent of watermelon is water, but the remaining 8 percent is loaded with lycopene, an anti-oxidant that protects the human heart, prostate and skin health

Summary:

This article is about experiment conduct by some Spanish about co-relation between Ultrasonic & Isobaric equilibrium. In most cases, this method is accomplished by multistage processes, of which distillation is the most important. One of the distillation types, heterogeneous azeotropic distillation, is a widely used technique for separating binary azeotropic mixtures into their pure components. The technique works by adding a third component, the entrainer, which causes liquid–liquid phase separation over a broad range of compositions in the ternary phase diagram. The use of ultrasonic sound is a well-suited method for disruption, emulsification and suspension of samples. Ultrasonic homogenizers are currently used by scientific researchers in universities and in industrial research laboratories, especially in biotechnology but in my PSM objective, by determining azeotropic of ethanol-water mixture, ultrasonic can be use to separate this two substance. The first two systems have been studied before by different authors and the results obtained in this work can be compared with their results.

p/s: Author of this article have limited use of the method, in my case, i'll use it in reducing cost of extracting ethanol in Natural Gas processing.

DESCRIPTION OF THE VARIOUS NATURAL LIPIDS.

www.cyberlipid.org

Summary:

This site contain every single information about lipid. "Lipid" defines substances as oils, fats and waxes which can be only characterized by a large array of properties. They are in general coming from animals and plants living or fossilized, insoluble or immiscible with water but soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform, ether, benzene, acetone, and formed of long-chain hydrocarbon groups (carbon and hydrogen) but may also contain oxygen, phosphorus, nitrogen and sulfur. As dealing with natural gas or petroleum, one have to know what is lipid and effect of this particle is doing experiment of extraction, distillation and even adsorption/absorption.I can get various data about lipid so that i'll prepare information about my research. Lipids are one of the three main classes of food, besides carbohydrates and proteins. They are responsible for storing energy that animals do not immediately need.

p/s: Does everyone know that there are lots of lipid in their body? Protecting soft layer and give heat to the body.

eat healthily

is you know what is your full time job?actually our full time job is caring for your heart.we have to eat right, exercise correctly, take life easy and treat heart disease early. if we ignore that lifestyles we risks to get heart attack when 40 years old.The truth is, a hearts attack is almost always the end product of years of unhealthy lifestyle choices.the damage is often already done bydiabetes, hypertension, the metabolic syndrome and obesity. One of the easiest way to prevent heart attack is to watch what you eat.when having high cholesterol, the cholesterol gets deposited in your arteries and they get clogged The heart muscles are deprived of its oxygen source blood and increase the risk to get heart attack. Instead of giving the lowdown on how to avoid meat, fat and cholesterol, we should be more careful about the types of fat weeat and pay attention to our sugar and carbohydrate intake as well. we also must know perfectly when choosing carbnyhdrate.nowadays there is Glycaemic Index (GI),an indicator of how fast carbohydrates and sugars in a certain food raise blood sugar levels. High GI foods such as refined carbohydrates, potatoes or table sugar break down in the body rapidly and raise blood sugar levels in a short time. so we can alert before eating and can reduce the risk to get heart attack.

Title: Fishermen on drugs now a real worry
By EMBUN MAJID

The article is about fishermen on drug which is using stimulant-type drugs to keep their energy up while on the job. Datuk Abd Bakir Zain as Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) director-general looked this problem seriously because their addiction would have a negative impact on the fishermen and their families in the long run. He also said a major reason for the addiction was an easy supply of drugs. The agency was working together with state and federal departments to conduct campaigns and awareness programmes at fishing villages. He said the agency would also work with related enforcement authorities to conduct enforcement activities at fishing villages.

Eat healthily

now a days, people exspecially students did not care much about their health because they think that they're still young and metabolism is still tough and high. this is totally wrong. from now we need to take care about our health. But if you think that is too much work, think about the possibility of having a heart attack and bypass surgery at the age of 40.
The truth is, a hearts attack is almost always the end product of years of unhealthy lifestyle choices.

Long before a major cardiac event, the damage is often already done by diabetes, hypertension, the metabolic syndrome and obesity. Perhaps, we are either too distracted or too busy to care.

Once you pick up any of the above risk factors, accelerated ageing starts in your body. This is the recipe that is going to give you a heart attack, says senior lecturer in cardiology Dr Jeyarajah Sivalingam.

That is why more emphasis should be placed on the prevention of these risk factors, rather than remedial actions after heart disease sets in.

One of the easiest way is to watch what you eat. As the saying goes, you have the final say over what goes into your mouth and stomach.

we must know few things to take care about aour health which include:
1.Revisiting dietary advice
2.Fats, sugar and inflammation
3.The middle path
4.In essence
if we know ablut this few important things, soon it is possible that we will prevent ourself from sickness.

Title: Walk, Don’t Run (pg.110)
New research shows that regular walking not only has definite health benefits while causing minimum damage to the body but it can also provide a better workout than running. Walking can trim hips, thighs and bottom better and quicker than running. The walking movement lengthens and strengthens muscles in the lower body, and gives the bottom a good workout. Regular walking reduces wear and tear on cartilage in joints, plus the pumping action helps alleviate water retention and prevents varicose veins. Make sure as each foot lands, transfer weight down the outside of the sole to the ball. Don’t lift the back foot until the big toe of the front one has landed. Keep the leg muscles relaxed and make sure the arms are bent at 90 degrees, swinging them close to the body. Shoulders should be loose, hands gently cupped, and eyes looking straight ahead. A good walking shoe should have a comfortable soft upper, smooth thread, good shock absorption, and a design that encourage the natural roll of the foot while walking. As you walk or run, pay attention to how much grip the shoe offers. Your heel should not slip at all.

What is the risk of VTE in air travel?
There are concerns of the risk of air travel, especially long-distance flights causing VTE. Recent studies have confirmed a two-fold increase in the risk of developing VTE in air travel as well as other forms of travel and the mechanism is thought to be immobilisation.
In individuals who use oral contraceptives, are carriers of the Factor V Leiden mutation, or who are particularly tall, short, or obese, this risk is considerably higher and may need thromboprophylaxis.
Simple measures like doing stretching exercises, drinking enough water (and not alcohol which tends to cause diuresis, where the body passes more urine, resulting in dehydration) would also help.

What makes a good doctor?
http://thestar.com.my/health/story.asp?file=/2009/2/22/health/3295721&sec=health

There are many qualities that make a good doctor, but you should also remember not to overrate experience.
Patients do overrate experience in a doctor. Of course experience counts for something. But it is far from everything. Certainly not when it is an unthinking experience that is more of a slog and a plod than anything else.
Though medical knowledge and scientific knowledge are indispensable to a doctor, they don’t necessarily make a good doctor. – AP
When is experience important? It takes an experienced doctor to get a patient and his carers to come on board the team. It is pointless to prescribe an effective treatment when the patient is reluctant and resentful about taking it.
Experience should be varied. Experience should leave us thinking. Experience should make us learn. However much experience a doctor may have, it is still limited to the minutes and hours of his practice and what his brain makes of it. That is so little and confining!
More important than an individual’s experience is the pooled documented experience..
Experience should be combined with wisdom, judgement and knowledge. Wisdom is something we have lost in our overloaded world of information.
Judgement is equally difficult to calibrate. The more seminars and conferences he attends, the more he learns of what his “cutting edge” colleagues are thinking about and doing. In many countries, doctors are tested every year on their knowledge and skills before their license to practise is renewed. The good doctor is well-mannered, experienced, wise, creative, of good judgement and most of all, knowledgeable, scientific and mathematical.

Title: Too Much PlayStation Can Cause Painful Lumps-Study

The article is about the effect if people too much play the indoor game such as PlayStation. Swiss scientists said that keeping too tight a grip on the console and furiously pushing the buttons can cause a newly identified skin disorder marked by painful lumps on the palms. The skin disorder can cause painful lesions on the palms similar to patches found on the soles of children's feet after taking part in heavy physical activity. Beside that the tight and continuous grasping of the hand-grips together with repeated pushing of the buttons produce minor but continuous trauma to the (palm) surfaces. The researchers said also excessive gaming is already seen as a public health issue, sparking addictive behaviour that can lead to a range of psychological problems. Their study described the case of a 12-year-old girl who attended the Geneva hospital with intensely painful lesions on her hands, which she had developed four weeks earlier and she had no other lesions anywhere else on her body. The researchers suspected that grasping the console's hand-grips together with repeated pushing of the buttons produced minor but prolonged injury to the palm of the girl's hands, which can be made worse by sweating during a tense game.

Title : Scarily Fun

This article is about BMW 135i coupe. It is a small car with a big powerful engine. It has a 2,979cc straight six engine with turbo-charged with twin turbo which gives us enough power to accelerate from 0 to 100 KM/H in 5.3 seconds! The engine produces 306HP and a maximum torque of 400Nm. The twin turbo produces power to the car at both low and high revs. One turbo is activated at low revs and speed and the other one at high revs and speed which gives constant power. The 135i's top speed has been limited to 250KM/H. With the technology such as Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), the driving will be very smooth and stable even on wet roads. This small ride with a powerful "heart" cost RM423,800.00

Drinking Raises Cancer Risk for Middle-Age Women
Research involving more than a million middle-age women finds that even low levels of drinking can raise a woman's risk of developing cancer of the liver and rectum. For women who smoke, cancers of the mouth and throat were also linked to high alcohol consumption. Overall, the risk of cancer increased as alcohol consumption increased. The type of alcohol consumed appeared to make no difference. Women who drank and also smoked faced increased risk of cancers of the oral cavity and pharynx, esophagus, and larynx (voice box). However, researchers remain concerned about the pattern of consumption. It is unclear, for example, whether someone who drinks several glasses of wine on one day during the week has the same risk as someone who drinks one glass of wine per day with a meal. In addition, the effects of quitting or reducing drinking on cancer risk are also unclear. On the other hand, numerous studies have suggested that alcohol, especially red wine, might help deter heart disease -complicating decisions around drinking and health.

Iranian and Russian technicians are conducting a test run of Iran's first nuclear power plant, officials said Wednesday, a major step toward launching full operations at the facility, which has long raised concerns in the U.S. and its allies over Iran's nuclear ambitions. At the same time, Iran claimed another advance in its nuclear program: The number of centrifuges carrying out uranium enrichment had increased to 6,000, the country's nuclear chief said — up from 5,000 in November.

USA and Israel are the first country to come out with their statement to urge world nation to take serious concern about the progress. This two country claimed that the Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapon but the Iranian was denied the claim and explained that the program is to generate energy.

The fuselage split in two, close to the cockpit, and the tail broke off. One engine lay almost intact near the wreck in the muddy field. The other was some 200 yards (meters) from the plane and heavily damaged. Flight TK1951 left Istanbul's Ataturk Airport at 8:22 a.m. (0622 GMT, 0122 EST) bound for Amsterdam, then crashed at 1031 a.m. (0931 GMT, 0431 EST).The fact that the plane landed on a soft surface and that there was no fire helped keep the number of fatalities low. The Duct authorities still make investigation regarding this crash before making any statement to the public.

Pollution Increases Allergies in Children

According to a study conducted by researchers from the German Research Center for Environment and Health at the Institute of Epidemiology in Munich, Children who living closer than 50m to busy road had highest probability of getting allergic symptoms because busy road are likely to be exposed not only to a higher amount of traffic-derived particles and gases but also to a more freshly emitted aerosols, which may be more toxic. From the same research, they found that the 2 main pollutants are particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide. This can trigger severe allergic reactions and asthma attacks, especially when combined with other allergens such as pollen.

Air Pollution May be to Blame for Honeybee Population Collapse

Pollutants such as ozone (smog) and nitrate radicals, are binding with the volatile scent molecules given off by flowers causes this flowers no longer carry a sweet scent, and do not attract pollinating insects to plants . Thus air pollution is having a direct impact on these insects by making it harder for them to find food. Populations of bees and other pollinating insects have drastically declined in many parts of the world. At the same time, the number of some plant also decrease because plant that is not pollinated cannot reproduce.

Less is better for memory

A team of German researchers said that reducing caloric intake can help older people to remember better. They found that memory and cognitive skills showed marked improvement among healthy. They did the research by using 49 men and women with a median age of 60 and were divided into three groups. The first group were told to eat normally, the second had a similar diet but ate a higher proportion of unsaturated fatty acids, such as those found in olive oil and fish and the third group were told to reduce their caloric intake to about a third less than they normally would, while avoiding crash-dieting and ensuring they did not drop below 1,200 calories a day. After three months, there was no difference in memory scores in the first two groups, but the 50 in the third group performed better. For our knowledge, the current results provide first experimental evidence in humans that caloric restriction improves memory in the elderly. The present findings may help to develop new prevention and treatment strategies for maintaining cognitive health into old age.

Oscars: Slumdog most decorated British film since Shakespeare in Love

The best movie of the year, the best cinematography, the best sound mixing, the best film editing, the best score, the best original song that describe Slumdog Millionaire at the Academy Awards. Based on a novel by Vikas Swarup- with the brilliant directing by talented British director, Danny Boyle and combination of superb acting by the young and inexperienced Indians actors made this movie worthy of all the eight Oscars it took home. With that, the film has overtake ‘Shakespeare in Love’, which won seven statuettes and was the last British film to bowl the Academy over. At the box office it has taking more than £7 million in its first fortnight and £21 million so far.

After watching the movie myself, indeed Slumdog Millionaire deserves all the recognition it gets. The title ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ in the film referred to Jamal Malik who are on the edge to win 20million rupees in the popular program, ‘Who wants to be a millionaire?’ Jamal Malik just a young Mumbai’s teen work as chaiwalla (tea-maker in Indian) because his fairy-tale run, he was suspected of fraud and taken to the police station to be investigated how he knows the answers to the question he is asked. As Jamal told how he know the answer in each of the question the film unfolds in flashback, how Jamal travels through his life rise from the slum of Mumbai poverty stricken district he was destined to live in.

In brief Slumdog Millionaire depicts the good, and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly of India, blend and mixture of thrills and tears. A feel good movie, that able to make one to dance in the rain of misery. Jai Ho!

Three questions arise after the death of Galileo; how could a man with impaired eyesight have made the observations that revolutionised astronomy; and did his faulty vision alter what he saw and recorded? And who was the woman found buried alongside him? Scientist are planing to solve all these 3 question with the help of genetics (DNA testing). It is suspected that the woman buried next to him is Galileo's eldest daughter, Virginia. Paolo Galluzzi, the director of Florence's museum of the history of science applied for permission to take the DNA from Galileo's body. ANALYSIS: For undergrads, it's all about 'cari makan'

This article confront the problem that always appear to undergraduate students who optional for humanities courses. Thinking about the future they have in course that they take. They settle for fields of study perceived to be less in demand, or less demanding. What students want, or indeed clamour for, are those programmes bluntly referred to as the cari makan courses, that will enable them to easily secure jobs, preferably well-paying ones, when they graduate.Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said if the trend continued, the humanities -- which encompass courses such as literature, philosophy, music, art and history -- might become irrelevant in future. A general lack of awareness of the job opportunities available upon graduation is another factor why students shy away from humanities courses. In Australia, there is awareness that if you take history, it does not mean you must end up a historian. You can become a researcher, for instance, or something else. But here in Malaysia, students are unaware of the other options. In the end, it is whether they have the requisite soft skills. It is those with excellent communication, leadership and critical thinking skills who are most likely to land the jobs. We have the key to change our future but we must see how we steer to get it, not how we follow it.

Greater leeway will be given to varsities, says DPM Najib

Local universities will be given greater autonomy to decide the policies and day-to-day running of their institutions. In promising less interference from the government, Najib said these universities would be allowed to have their say in matters such as staff appointment, budget allocation and research work. The government wants Malaysian universities to be internationally recognised and placed among the top 100 universities in the world, he said. In line with this, the government will focus on enhancing the quality of existing public universities instead of increasing their numbers, Najib added. He said the government was satisfied with the 61 public and private universities set up nationwide. Earlier before this statement, Najib witnessed the signing of two memorandums of understanding by UMP with Hicom Automotive Manufacturers and Pasdec Holdings Berhad. UMP plans to work with Hicom Automotive on the development of academic courses, research and human capital, while the deal with Pasdec Holdings involves the development of its main campus in Kuala Pahang, Pekan. I hope there will be less birocracy in management and stake holder will be treat the way they suppose to be. Youth is goverment future, by giving them education, goverment gain more benifit and dignity.

REMOVAL OF MERCURY FROM GAS STREAMS BY OXIDATIVE MEMBRANE GAS ABSORPTION

Rick van der Vaart*, Jan Akkerhuis, Paul Feron, Bert Jansen

The Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research, TNO, P.O. Box 342, 7300 AH Apeldoorn, The Netherlands

-------------------------------------------

This journal noted the study that investigates method of removal of mercury by membrane gas absorption (MGA) using oxidative membrane : Oxi-MGA.

Current adsorptive removal methods for mercury from the wet gas suffer from problem with water adsorption, voluminous mercury-contaminated adsorbent, which leads to high disposal costs. Some general advantages identified by using MGA are channeling or flooding in the streams can be avoided, flexible operation, skid-mounted, predictable scale up and very high contact-surface area to volume ratio.

The criteria of the best oxidising agent for the MGA also has been identified. The criterion are : Strong oxidiser (with high redox potential to ensure a complete reaction), unharmful formation of by-products, solubility of the oxidising agent and formed product must be high to prevent precipitation, and the membrane should have no detrimental interaction with the materials.

The oxidising solution that is tested were : H2O2 (34 g/l)/H2SO4 (10 g/l), K2Cr2O7,
K2S2O8, Na2S2O8 (100 g/l) + AgNO3 catalyst (4 g/l), KMnO4 (50 g/l), NaClOx (saturated), and Cl2 gas. The material of membranes that was tested were : polyethylene-PE (with 72 porosity level), Polypropylene-PP (with 75 porosity level) and Polytetrafluoro-ethylene (PTFE). The module that were selected: TNO-transversal flow and shell and tube.

From the experimental result it was found that PTFE material membrane looks promising that can withstand the strongly oxidising agent. The practicality of oxi-MGA also has been justified at lab scale. Although further study required before Oxi-MGA can be practice in industry and commercially.

Three Malaysian women on holiday were among seven people killed in a fire at a budget hotel in Taiwan yesterday.Authorities in Taipei identified them as clerk Chin Seok Ling, 26, from Penang, Lee Loo Yee, 37, from Puchong, Selangor and Low Mee Sim, 40, from Cheras here. Their charred bodies were found in the bathroom of a guest room on the second floor of the four-storey building. The others, all Taiwanese, were aged between 26 and 92. According to Taiwan media reports, the hotel used wooden panels to separate the rooms, thus forming 10 tiny rooms on each floor. The hotel, which charges about NT$500 (RM54) per night, was home to mostly lonely elderly people, including those relocated by the city’s Social Walfare Department.

200 WHALES, DOLPHINS GET STRANDED ON BEACH

Associated Press reported 194 pilot whales and half a dozen of bottlenose dolphins became stranded on Naracoopa Beach on Tasmania state’s King Island on 1st March last Sunday.
48 of the mammals had been rescued and returned to the sea by officials and more than 100 local residents who had volunteered to help. They used stretchers, small boats and jet ski to pull the whales and dolphins out to sea.

It was the fourth incidents in recent months in Tasmania. One of the report cited that the animals were caught by a very low tide. But until now, scientists still seeking a clear answer for the grotesque phenomena.

Last November 150 long-finned pilot whales died after stranded on a rocky coastline in Tasmania, in earlier this year 45 sperm whales died after beached on a remote Tasmanian sandbar, and just last week 49 pilot whales had died because of the same incident. However, it is the first time for whales and dolphins to get stranded together

This unexplained phenomena that still remains mystery reminds me of Al-Baqarah 2:32, that emphasize the lack of knowledge of Man and Man only know what they've been taught by HIM.

They said: "Glory to Thee, of knowledge We have none, save what Thou Hast taught us: In truth it is Thou Who art perfect in knowledge and wisdom."

(Al Baqarah 2:32, translation by: Yusuf Ali)

Challenging game
CARDS AND BOARDS
Switch is an unabashed hack-and-slash sort of boardgame, with an emphasis on items, skills and special effect cards (collectively known as Wish Cards), a magical item that needs to be pilfered to secure victory (the Treasure Chest), Legendary Weapons, Life, Power Cards, Event Cards and of course, Monster Cards.
The rest of the game is quite typical then, as those who’ve played Talisman, Runebound or Heroquest will no doubt get into it and navigate the rules quite ably. (Non-gaming aficionados will want to check out Talisman.
Let’s dance
In brief, you start off by “tanking up” your character – piling up on weapons, abilities and all sorts of wonderful things. Don’t forget the Eye card too, as finding it activates your character’s Legendary Weapon.
The tempo then switches (pun intended) to high gear when someone draws the Magical Chime. He then controls the Treasure Chest – this is the part where it’s fairly obvious that doing so, makes the character a prime target xterfor emination.
When the Magical Chime is set off, a new deck of cards will be available. The Unleashed cards spawn monsters. Chambers on the board will also start moving – hence the game’s title. It’s like one of those classic roll-the-die-and-see-what-happens type of games. If you never liked games with so much chance in them, well, stay away. If you just like bouts of randomness punctuated by nicely illustrated game components, and all things feudal Japan, then give it a try.

Attitude and altitude
Pilots are perceived to be a high-fliers who lead exciting lives. In fact, theirs is a high-pressure job which involves great risks and responsibility.
THE typical image of pilots is that they are the rock and roll stars of the sky, jet- setting around the world in dashing uniforms while getting handsomely paid for the job.
The Bintulu-based school began life in June 2007 and was set up by a husband and wife team. They had no prior knowledge or experience in the field of aviation and were initially roped in to be just investors of the school. But, due to unforeseen circumstances, they decided to forge ahead on their own. There are currently 120 students at the school, but its proposed new RM120 million campus will be able to accommodate 800 students.
The school also plans to introduce new aviation-related courses such as aircraft maintainence and engineering. The first is the Private Pilot License (PPL), which requires that candidates pass theory papers in subjects such as aircraft technical knowledge, meteorology and human factors, as well as at least 45 hours of practical flight training. This license only allows the candidate to fly personal aircraft.
Then, comes the Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), which enables licence-holders to charter passengers on their aircraft. In order to rise the rank of captain, one needs to sit for the Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
To date, GGIFA offers the most competitively-priced course for those who wish to pursue a career in aviation, which is about RM230,000 for two years of training. It also offers scholarships on a case-by-case basis. “Students will on be on probation for three months. If they excel in their studies and show dedication, they will qualify for the scholarship.

Title: China police arrested in 'hide and seek' death case

Two China police officer are arrested for misconduct after an inquiry which found a prisoner had been beaten to death by a fellow inmate, rather than died during a game of hide-and-seek, as police initially reported in Beijing.
The prisoner died from a severe brain injury four days after being sent to hospital from a detention centre in the southwestern province of Yunnan, where he had been held for cutting down trees.
Initially police said Li had been playing hide-and-seek blindfolded, and had run into a wall. But a provincial inquiry found Li had been fatally beaten by a "tyrant" prisoner. Two police officers who worked at the detention centre had been arrested and charged with dereliction of duty. The initial explanation for Li's death met with such derision that provincial authorities invited Internet users to help with the investigation. Some web users then proceeded to hack the local government website, leaving bizarre messages.

Chinese Fish Farms Full of Toxic Chemicals

China is the biggest seafood exporter in the world. Yet this growth has only exacerbated the pollution problems already facing China's water sources. The high density of fish farms in regions like the Fuqing Province in the south has led to the discharge of huge quantities of wastewater into already compromised rivers. The Chinese government has declared more than half of the rivers in the country too polluted to drink from.

Pollution of river and coastal waters comes from rapidly growing industries that are discharging pesticides, oil, mercury, lead, copper and agricultural runoff. There are heavy metals, mercury and flame retardants in fish samples Wang Wu.Beyond the health risks to the fish themselves, pollution causes the accumulation of toxic substances in the bodies of the fish, which poses a health risk to people who eat them.

Bus drivers wonder what is the fuss

"What is the big deal. If our vehicles fail the test, they are off the roads". This was the response of Federation of Malaysia School Bus Drivers Association president Chee Ay Tay to the concerns expressed by Puspakom on the road worthiness of schoolbuses. Chee said that drivers whose buses fail the test do not take children to school until they receive the green light from Puspakom. Vehicles that did not pass Puspakom's test were not allowed on the road and the road tax would not be renewed, he said. He said in some cases the design of the bus might not meet the road safety rules. I think this should't be happening because the driver should care more about their passengers. It is better for them to pass this PUSPAKOM test or don't be a buss driver at all.

Flowers' Fragrance Diminished by Air Pollution

Air pollution from power plants and automobiles is destroying the fragrance of flowers and thereby inhibiting the ability of pollinating insects to follow scent trails to their source.

The scent molecules produced is less compare to last time. The scent molecules produced by flowers are very volatile and they quickly bond with pollutants such as ozone, hydroxyl and nitrate radicals, which destroy the aromas they produce. This means that instead of traveling intact for long distances with the wind, the scents are chemically altered and the flowers, in a sense, no longer smell like flowers. This forces pollinators to search farther and longer and possibly to rely more on sight and less on smell. This makes it increasingly difficult for pollinators to locate the flowers.

Doodling should be encouraged in boring meetings, claims psychologist

http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2009/feb/27/doodling-doodles-boring-meetings-concentration

This article tells us that doodling can improve our concentration on something. Especially during a meeting which is boring. A simple task like doodling may be sufficient to stop daydreaming without affecting performance on the main task. Doodling may be something we do because it helps to keep us on track with a boring task, rather than being an unnecessary distraction that we should try to resist doing. Jackie Andrade, a cognitive psychologist at the University of Plymouth, UK, run a research with 40 people. These 40 people need to do a task. Half of them just listen and do the task and another half do the same thing while doodling. Experiment shows that the second group of people are more aware and conscious on the given task. So, for students out there, if your class is boring, do not sleep. Pick up a pen and start doodling on a piece of paper. This will boost your brain to be more conscious in the class.

Wishing on the princesses

Experience the magic of Disney On Ice as it brings you a tale of seven princesses.

Produced by PR Worldwide Live and Feld Entertainment, it exudes the magic that makes everyone feel like a child again.
Since its first performance here in 1999, Disney on Ice has masterfully recreated and brought to life classic Disney productions, namely 100 Years of Disney Magic, Beauty and The Beast, Princess Classics, The Magical World of Disney on Ice, Finding Nemo and the recent Mickey & Minnie’s Amazing Journey.

To get audiences to re-experience the emotions evoked by the films, there will be glittering sets, dramatic lighting, breathtaking choreography and “a few surprises”.

For director Patty Vincent, it’s about realising her goal. “My favourite part of this entire experience was actually piecing it together... starting with a blank piece of paper and then gathering ideas, finding music and working out the choreography and costumes.

this performance is very nice and suit for all age especially for family.

Archaeologists rediscover lost Egyptian tomb

Belgian archaeologists have rediscovered an ancient Egyptian tomb that had been lost for decades under sand. The tomb of Amenhotep was uncovered in 1880, the deputy seal-bearer of the Pharaoh King Tuthmosis III.It later disappeared under the sand and archaeologists kept looking for it until it was found by the Belgian expedition. Egypt's chief archaeologist said the tomb consists of an enclosure and a large hall divided into two parts by six columns. Part of the northern side of the hall had been destroyed. Most of the inscriptions on the tomb walls were damaged, a sign that the place had probably been robbed in the early 19th century.

THERE'S nothing quite like a delicious bowl of ice cold cendol on a hot, humid afternoon. Pair it with rojak petis, nasi ambang ayam or Penang laksa and you have the perfect treat for afternoon tea.
Those in the know in Johor Baru head for Cendol House in Kampung Melayu Majidee to still their cravings for these traditional favourites.
Cendol House has five variations of cendol -- plain, with glutinous rice, red bean, sweet corn, or the "special," which mixes all these ingredients together.
only freshly-made ingredients go into his cendol as that makes it tastier. The "special" cendol has a generous portion of glutinous rice with sprinklings of sweet corn and red bean mixed into it.

Title : WEAKNESSES IN IMPLEMENTING THE POLICY TO TEACH MATH IN ENGLISH

Tan Sri Musa Mohamad, former Education Minister has admitted that the policy to teach and learn Science and Mathematics in English policy although the intention was good, the policy has failed to achieve its objectives. He also openly cited when delivering a talk at the Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) that the policy to use Malay language, as the medium of instruction had been effective. However he urged reference book and journals should be promptly translated, to avoid facing lack of reference materials in the Malay language.

Not to jump into premature conclusion I've made further reading on this subject. Articles from Prof. Awang Sariyan, Profesor Emeritus Tan Sri Ismail Hussein, Dr. Hassan Ahmad and even young politician - Khairy Jamaludin of UMNO has convinced me that why we must ditched this ill-conceived policy.

It is known that the main objectives for this policy - so that we become better at Science and Math where the vast literature on the two subjects that is available in English.

The keyword here: getting students to be better in English. From my understanding on this matter the issue here is not the importance of English in the global world. But how to get students to be better in English.
I don’t think reading effectively skill, or speaking fluently skill were skills that we pick up in Biology, Mathematics or Physics classes.

Two gene “products”, Natural Killer (NK) cells and Natural Killer T cells (NKT) are known to be able to control the development of cancer. In some families, these genes may be altered – what we call a mutated gene. Mutated genes loose the ability to repair abnormal cells and hence the uncontrolled proliferation of cells takes place, and this eventually results in cancer.Good nutrition and lifestyle have been known to reverse the process and thereby prevent cancer development. This naturally available defense mechanism in the human body is weak and will not work when cancer cell numbers are large.poor lifestyle such as,poor nutrition; smoking; and excessive drinking. In those who have both genetic mutations and poor lifestyles, the incidence of cancer would be higher.

The grainy video was released by environmental group WWF which has been monitoring the rhinos for about 20 years in the rugged Ujung Kulon National Park on the southern tip of Indonesia's Java island.Rhino experts from around the world met in Indonesia earlier this week to discuss plans and progress on protecting rhinos.

Rhinos is one of the endangered species. Action needs to be urgently taken because the rhino population has stagnated.

source: http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/NST/Friday/Frontpage/20090306080720/Article/index_html

WORLD NO 1 Lee Chong Wei, as expected, advanced to the quarter-finals of the All England but Julia Wong was the surprise package yesterday when she toppled European champion Xu Huaiwen of Germany to claim a place in the last eight in Birmingham last night.
Chong Wei didn't really have it his way as the unheralded German Marc Zwiebler battled hard before allowing the top seed to register a 21-18, 21-16 win in 37 minutes in a second round match.

Datuk Lee Chong Wei and Julia Wong were qualified to quarter final and they will meet their 'real' opponent in their next match.

Malaysian players mostly win their games in the early stages but after entering the further stages, they always lost to their opponent. But we hope that this time they will bring a good new from England.

Caffeine: How much is too much?
http://health.msn.com/nutrition/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100103443
Caffeine makes people feel more alert, energetic and productive. Two to three cups of brewed coffee a day aren't harmful. However, four to seven cups of coffee can cause restlessness, anxiety, irritability, muscle tremors, sleeplessness, headaches, nausea, diarrhea or other gastrointestinal problems and abnormal heart rhythms. If you're susceptible to the caffeine's effects, just small amounts even one cup of coffee or tea may prompt unwanted results, such as anxiety, restlessness and irritability. The more sensitive you are to caffeine, the less you need to consume before feeling its influence. Caffeine can interfere with your sleep. Sleep loss is cumulative, and even small nightly decreases can add up and disturb your daytime function. Sleep deprivation can cause impaired memory, mood swings, lack of concentration, and poor performance at work. Avoid caffeinated beverages eight hours before your desired bedtime. Certain medications and herbal supplements interact negatively with caffeine. Caffeine can be habit-forming, so any attempts to stop or lessen the amount you normally consume can be challenging. An abrupt decrease in caffeine can cause withdrawal symptoms, such as headaches, fatigue, irritability and nervousness. These symptoms usually resolve after several days. Gradually reduce the amount of caffeine you consume. This will help your body get used to the lower levels of caffeine and thereby lessen the withdrawal effects.

Stress relief from laughter? Yes, no joke
http://health.msn.com/health-topics/anxiety/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100141551
Laughter is powerful stress-relief medicine. A good laugh has great short-term effects. When you start to laugh, it doesn't just lighten your load mentally, it actually induces physical changes in your body. Laughter enhances your intake of oxygen-rich air, stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles, and increases the endorphins that are released by your brain. Laughers can fire up and then cool down your stress response and increase your heart rate and blood pressure. Laughter can also ease digestion and stimulate circulation, which helps reduce some of the physical symptoms of stress. Laughter may ease pain by causing the body to produce its own natural painkillers. Laughter can also make difficult situations a little bit easier. Find a way to laugh about your own situations and watch your stress begin to fade away.

French study finds belly fat makes breathing harder

Recently, French researchers said that carrying excess weight around the middle can impair lung function, adding to a long list of health problems associated with belly fat. They also said that a large waist measurement is strongly associated with decreased lung function, regardless of other complicating factors that affect the lungs such as overall obesity and smoking. They have found a positive independent relationship between lung function impairment and metabolic syndrome due mainly to abdominal obesity while analyzed health information about 120,000 people in France. Several studies have linked poor lung function with higher rates of deaths and hospitalization from heart disease. The researchers think that belly fat may impair the way the diaphragm and chest function.

House dust mites
http://thestar.com.my/health/story.asp?file=/2009/3/1/health/3337817&sec=health
The articles is all about house dust mites. It seems, many people are aware of house dust mites since many bedding items such as pillows, mattress-protectors, blankets and mattresses are labeled anti-dust mite as part of their marketing strategies. There is practically no research evidence from independent sources to show that such labelled items truly prevent house dust mites from colonising such items.
Dust mites are microscopic, sightless, eight-legged arachnids (related to spiders) that are natural inhabitants of indoor environments. The droppings (faecal pellets) of these mites are the most common triggers of allergy and asthma symptoms, especially in humid regions where dust mites tend to thrive throughout the home.
These mites live in fabrics such as carpets, mattresses, pillow, sofa sets or furry toys, and also reside in house dust wherever present. There is not a single house in Malaysia without these mites but some houses contain huge numbers of dust mites whereas other houses contain less.
Their numbers depend on suitable places for them to multiply, the quantity of food available and the amount of moisture in the house.
In countries with tropical climates, such as Malaysia, the temperature and humidity are ideal for the rapid multiplication of dust mites in homes.
Several studies conducted over many years in Malaysia by Dr T.M. Ho and his team at the Institute for Medical Research, Kuala Lumpur, found that all houses surveyed had dust mites, with a minimum of at least six different species (in mattresses) in any house alone.
The most common and densely populated species was the Blomia tropicalis, with an average density of 8,934 mites per gram of house dust, followed by Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus and Malayoglyphus intermedius.
In most homes, their numbers far exceeded the proposed exposure threshold of 500 mites per gram house dust for triggering acute asthma.
Dust mites multiply quickly in the tropics, with each female laying 50 eggs every month. After the eggs hatch, the young mites reach maturity in about three weeks.

Evolution: Charles Darwin was wrong about the tree of life

In this article, according to the scientists, Charles Darwin's tree of life theory is wrong and need to be replaced. Darwin first sketched how species might evolved along branches of an imaginary tree which leads to theory of evolution. However, modern genetics reveals that it is misleading because the origins and inter-relatedness of species would be an impenetrable thicket. There is no evidence at all that the tree of life is a reality.Genes are being transferred between species on different evolutionary paths which results in a messier and more tangled "web of life"; not just a simple tree branches. This shows that Darwin's evolutionary branches is way oversimplified and the theory is politely not accepted in the science world.

LINEAR MOTORS

Author : Alexis Gibbrault
Source : Article Base
Link : http://www.articlesbase.com/technology-articles/what-is-a-linear-motor-65122.html

For a simple definition linear motor is an electric motor that uses a linear force mechanism to generate the power needed for a given application. For example, the LRT in our very own country. The LRT trains propel themselves using aluminium induction strip placed between the rails.

There are two basic types of linear motors: low acceleration and high acceleration. Low acceleration motors are typically used for its endurance in generating energy. While high acceleration motors is used for high output of energy over a shorter amounts of time.

Typically the low-acceleration linear motor engineered with one winding system on one side of the motor and magnets on the other side to create the electromagnetic repulsion necessary for successful application force called linear synchronous design.

The high-accelaration motor will generally be constructed of a three-phase winding on one side and a conductor plate on the other side of the motor, called linear induction design.

Linear motors has a lot of advantages preferably because it assure faster acceleration and higher velocities as well as higher success rates in automated accuracy, repeatability, and long-term reliability.

Title: Ocean "Dead Zones" Spreading Rapidly as Humans Pollute the Planet
When we come to the word “Dead zone”, I think most of the people will think it is an area or place full with dead people. But, I can tell you, you are totally wrong. Basically, Dead zones are areas where oxygen has become so depleted that little or no marine life is able to survive. They form when excessive plant nutrients, particularly nitrogen and phosphorus, run off from the coast and lead to an explosion of algae blooms. Subsequently, this may lead to increased crowding pressure in other parts of the ocean. The major sources of the pollutants that produce dead zones are fertilizer runoff from industrial agriculture and nitrogen-based byproducts of fossil fuel use.

At least nine killed in German school shooting

Nine people were killed and several were wounded at a secondary school in southwest Germany when a gunman opened fire in a brief shooting spree. The suspected gunman later fled the scene. The town was circled by helicopters while rescue workers and fire fighters filled the evacuated school where the shooting had taken place. A similar case had shaken Germany in 2006. 11 people were wounded when a masked man who wore explosives and was brandishing rifles, suddenly opened fire. The man finally committed suicide. Besides that, there was another incident in Germany which took place in April 2002. This time, the gunman stole 17 lives including his own. The case which happened in the United States was quite different. 10 people were killed including the suspected gunman and his mother in a shooting spree and car chase.
